THIS CCTV image shows two men police would like to speak to in relation to an unprovoked assault on a young student in Worcester.

A 19 year old man was left nursing cuts and bruises to his face after the attack, which happened outside FUNK nightclub on The Butts.

The assault happened at 12.20am on Tuesday, October 18 but police investigating the attack have only just released this image of two men they want to trace.

The victim was sat outside the club with a female friend when there was a verbal altercation between them and a group of three men.

One of the group came over to the pair and punched the man numerous times in the face, before another member of the group joined in. The victim's female friend was also pushed over during the assault.

The third man was then seen trying to get the other two men away from the area.

PC Mandie Gregg, from Worcester police station, said: "The two victims were left extremely shocked by this completely unprovoked attack.

"At the time of the assault, they were both new students and this was their first time out in Worcester city centre. We are releasing images of two men we wish to speak to in relation to this assault in the hope that someone knows who they are."

"This was a cruel attack and I would urge anyone who recognises the men in this image to call us soon as they can."

Anyone who is able to identify the men in the CCTV images can contact PC Gregg on 0300 333 3000 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
