CCTV image of man released after car thefts

By Tim Clarke 20/01 Updated: 24/01 11:55

THIS is the CCTV image of a man police would like to speak to following a spate of thefts from cars in Diglis.

At least six cars were broken into during the thefts on Armstrong Drive, which happened between midnight and 6am on Saturday, December 10.

The vehicles had their windows smashed and items including sat navs and phones were taken.

A nearby car repair garage was also broken into overnight and this is being linked to the thefts.

Police have just released this picture of a man captured on CCTV they would like to speak to as part of their investigation.

PC Christopher Day, from Worcester police station who is investigating the case, said: "We are keen to talk to the man in the image as he was seen in the area of the break-ins around the time of the offences.

"His outfit is quite distinctive and he is certainly dressed for the weather and was carrying a very large rucksack. I would appeal to anyone who remembers seeing him in the early hours of that Saturday morning to contact us."

Anyone who is able to identify the man in the CCTV image can contact PC Day on 0300 333 3000 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
