WORCESTER Warriors appear to be losing their battle to keep hold of star wingers Miles Benjamin and Marcel Garvey.
The pair, who have both been regulars in Richard Hill’s side this season, are out of contract at the end of the season and have yet to sign the new deals offered to them.
Northampton Saints and more recently Leicester Tigers have reportedly made a move for Benjamin, while 28-year-old Garvey could end his six-year Sixways stay with a possible move abroad.
With all the attention on his players and with contracts still to be penned, Hill is losing hope they will stay at Warriors.
“I am not convinced they will be here next season,” he said.
“I think if you put a contract in front of them a while ago and they have not signed it then that is an indication they will keep their options open, so I wouldn’t be surprised if either of them decided to move on.
“We will do what we can to try and keep them but when you offer a contract a month to six weeks ago and they haven’t signed it then you have got to have doubts to whether they will.
“I know something has come out saying Miles is about to sign for Leicester but I’ll go by what the player and his agent say, which, at the moment, is that he is still making his mind up.
“Again, Marcel is in Miles’ category in that we are just waiting to see what he wants to do - whether he wants a culture change in going somewhere else or whether he would like to stay here.
“We will have to wait and see but I think all will come clear within the next four weeks," he added.
Hill believes the pair are not irreplaceable and said he would be on the lookout for replacements should they choose to leave Sixways.
“It would be disappointing to lose Marcel and Miles. But my job is to rebuild a team and if that happens it happens and we will get players in, who are as good as or even better to replace them," he added.
