A MAN who was found unconscious in a city alleyway last week has died in hospital.
The man, who was in his 30s and from the Stourport area, was discovered seriously ill at the rear of the Salvation Army building on The Trinity in Worcester at 1.30pm on January 25.
He remained in hospital in a critical condition until he passed away on Wednesday evening (February 1), a post-mortem was conducted yesterday (Thursday).
Det Chief Insp Gary Watson said, "Unfortunately the post mortem has not provided an early answer to how this man died and we await the results of further tests, which could take a number of weeks.
"We remain open minded about what we are treating as an unexplained death.
"We continue to make inquiries about the incident and if anyone saw anything out of the ordinary in the area of the Trinity last Wednesday lunchtime we would like to hear from them," he added.
Anyone with information can contact Worcester CID via the non-emergency police number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously 0800 555 111.
