County face Somerset in opening friendly

WORCESTERSHIRE will begin their preparations for the new season with a two-day friendly against Somerset.

The match at Taunton on March 22 and 23 will be the first of four warm-up games for Steve Rhodes' side ahead of the LV= County Championship season opener against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge on April 5.

The Royals will also take on Glamorgan at New Road on March 26 (11.30am start) and then travel to Chelmsford for a two-day game against Essex on March 28 and 29.

The final warm-up game will be a one day friendly against Gloucestershire at New Road on March 31 starting at 11am.

There will be free admission to both homes friendlies.
