WORCESTER is set to host its second major relay event this year when the city welcomes the BBC One Show’s 1,000 mile relay in aid of Sport Relief.
While the Olympic Torch is set to pass through in May, the One Show 1000 charity relay will arrive in the city around 8am on March 23.
The popular evening magazine show hopes 1,000 people will take part in the relay which starts on the Isle of Mull on March 16 and finishes in the Mall in London on March 25.
The event will see people from all over the UK join forces to run a mile each in the 1,000 mile event, which will take place 24 hours a day for ten days.
The One Show will be showing highlights from the event throughout the week and the finish will happen live during the Sport Relief Mile Show, presented by One Show hosts Alex Jones and Matt Baker on March 25.
