TOMMY Freeman's scintillating performance against Plymouth Raiders last weekend has been recognised after he was selected in this week's BBL Team of the Week.

The Wolves forward, who has been key to the team's success this season, was in impressive form scoring a personal season-high of 40 points on Saturday (February 11) to get Wolves a much needed home win against the Plymouth Raiders.

A points tally which included eleven successful scores as well as converting all of his eleven free throws made it a night for the American to remember at the University of Worcester.

The win kept Wolves second in the BBL Championship table with 26 points from their 18 games - just four points behind leaders Newcastle Eagles.

A delighted Freeman said Saturday's game was the best he had played throughout his basketball career and was thrilled to help his side get back to winning ways in the BBL Championship.

“I’ve never been in a zone like that before, everything was going in," he said. "Our big guys were setting screens for me, and I made the most of my opportunities. I was putting it up there like the coach wants me to, and the shots just kept falling.

"It’s a real honour to be recognised as one of the top players in the league, but I’ve got to thank the guys for setting screens and getting me open."

Worcester Wolves head coach Paul James also expressed his delight and praised Freeman for his efforts throughout the season.

“Tommy's been a consistent factor in our success all season long," he said. "He’s a hard-nosed tough kid who shot the lights out against Plymouth.”
