TWO Worcester women are making a splash in a bid to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Neesha Taylor, 29, and Nicole Clee, 23, will each swim 25 miles of Nuffield Heath Centre's swimming pool next month.
They will start their challenge on Sunday, April 1 by swimming 100 lengths of the 15 pool each day, which is about a mile.
They are swimming in memory of a friend, James Buckle, who died of cancer aged 28 in October last year and aim to raise £5,000.
Miss Taylor, a teacher at The Chantry High School, said: "We're amazed at how generous people have been - we've already raised £1,370. It's been great making new friends and also becoming better friends with Nic, but eating every three hours and the exercise is hard."
"They're making breakthroughs in cancer all the time, and if we can raise enough money so another family doesn't have to go through losing someone to cancer, that's great."
They currently train six times a week, with Nuffield providing the training for free.
Their last swim will take place on Saturday, April 28.
Anyone can go and support them at 4pm at Nuffield Health Centre, Droitwich Road, Perdiswell Park, Worcester.
