A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a woman whose body was found at her Dines Green home.

Police arrested a 51-year-old man in Dorchester today (Sunday) having earlier made an appeal to the public for help in tracing William Cummins, who officers want to speak to in connection with their investigation.

The body of Jacqueline Harrison was found by police at her flat in Gresham Road on Thursday, April 12 after neighbours raised concerns that she had not been seen for several days.

A post mortem examination the following day showed that she had suffered significant assault injuries.

Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who saw or spoke to her in the last week of March or the first week of April. West Mercia officers have been working with colleagues in Dorset and Kent as part of the murder investigation.

Detective Inspector Gerry Smith, from the Major Investigation Unit, at West Mercia Police said: "We are in the early stages of this inquiry and want to speak to Jacqueline's friends or associates who may know about her last movements. Anyone who saw or spoke to her in the last week of March or first week of April should ring the Operation Mallard incident room at Worcester police station by dialling 101."
