POLICE investigating robberies at two betting shops in Worcester have arrested a man in Kent in connection with the raids.
A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of both robberies yesterday (Thursday, April 12) by officers from West Mercia Police. He is currently in custody at Worcester police station awaiting questioning.
We previously reported how Backhouse Bet on Angel Street was targeted on Monday, March 26 by a man wielding what appeared to be a handgun. He demanded money from a cashier before making off with an unconfirmed amount of cash.
Then on Tuesday, April 2 a man walked into a betting shop on Derwent Close in Warndon and demanded cash. He also threatened staff with what appeared to be a handgun and made off with a small amount of money.
