Come and join church's anniversary celebrations

A CHURCH in Barbourne is inviting people to come and join its 150th anniversary celebrations.

A Festival Eucharist will be held in St George's CE Church at 7.30pm on Thursday, April 26 with music from the newly formed St George's Singers under the direction of Ian Bell with Adrian Lucas on the organ.

The original St George's Church was consecrated on October 26, 1830 as a Chapel of Ease to Claines Church and continued to serve that part of Claines parish under the supervision of curates from Claines Church.

But the church became a parish in its own right from April 26, 1862.
