AMERICAN guard Sherrad Prezzie-Blue will play a key part in Worcester Wolves' title aspirations next season after signing a new deal with the club.

The 25-year-old has signed a one-year extension to his contract after helping the club record their highest ever league finish in the BBL Championship (third place) and make the BBL Cup semi-finals for the first time in their history.

Under coach Paul James, Prezzie-Blue has impressed in a Wolves jersey with some match-winning performances and is now regarded as one of the best point guards in the BBL after averaging nearly five assists and seventeen points a game. This has been proved by making several appearances in the BBL Team of the Week throughout the campaign.

A delighted Prezzie-Blue said he was thrilled to put pen-to-paper on a new deal and is relishing the prospect of helping the club lift some silverware next season.

"I have really enjoyed being at Worcester and have been pleased with how I’ve played," he said. "Having said that, we all know that there is unfinished business that needs to be addressed.

"We had a good season, but know that we can do even better. It’s great that coach Paul James is putting his faith in me and I will do everything I can to repay him and the terrific fans at the Wolves.“

Wolves head coach Paul James added: “Every good team needs a good leader and the Wolves certainly have one in Prezzie. He is one of the best point guards in this league and will be the cornerstone of our team next year.”
