THE WORK of a Malvern composer will feature in a performance by the internationally renowned Coull Quartet at Huntingdon Hall in Worcester on Friday, May 18 at 7.30pm.

Partita, by Malvern’s Derek Smith, pays homage to the baroque composer and former Worcester Cathedral organist Thomas Tomkins.

It will be among three works performed during the first half of the concert which will also include the beautiful Quartettsatz by Schubert and Shostakovich’s joyful first string quartet. The second half will feature the enduring masterpiece, Beethoven’s second Rasumovsky quartet.

Tickets cost £14 (students half-price) from Worcester Live Box Office on 01905 611427.
