"SAY NO to cuts" is the strong message members of the Trade Unionists and Socialists Against Cuts party are sending out to voters as they bid to make their voices heard on Worcester City Council.
The party is fielding two candidates in the city's local elections on Thursday.
Peter McNally will be up against Russell O'Dell (Green Party), Matthew Reynolds (Labour) and sitting councillor Derek Prodger (Conservative) in Bedwardine, while Mark Davies is aiming to secure the St John seat ahead of Neill Bucktin (Conservative), Christine Cawthorne (Labour) and Olaf Twiehaus (Green Party).
The pair are both standing for the fight against public sector cuts as they feel it is unfair that workers are being punished for the current financial crisis.
Mr McNally said: "I am standing to offer a no-cuts alternative to voters. The bankers caused the financial crisis but all the establishment parties say workers must pay the price despite the richest people having £500 billion of wealth."
Mr Davies added: "I pledge to oppose all cuts, reject increases in council tax, rent and service charges, vote against the privatisation of council jobs and services and instead work to meet the needs of the local community.
"The millionaires have three parties to represent them, it's time that we, the millions, had a party to represent us."
