Man charged over assaults

A MAN has been charged with sexual assault and two counts of kidnap with intent to commit a sexual offence in Worcester.

The charges relate to two assaults in the city including a woman being grabbed by a man as she waited to catch a bus on Barbourne Road.

The victim was pulled back a short disatance towards Gheluvelt Park at about 5.30am on Tuesday, April 24 before her attacker let go of her and ran off.

Then at about 4.25am on Sunday, May 6 a woman walking along Sansome Walk was approached by a man and subjected to a serious sexual assault close to Worcester Baptist Church.

A man in his 20s was arrested yesterday (Thursday) in Worcester and questioned at Castle Street Police Station. He was charged this afternoon and has been remanded in police custody to appear at Worcester Magistrates' Court on Saturday morning.
