Worcestershire relegated as Bears seal title triumph

By Sportsdesk Thursday 06 September 2012 Updated: 06/09 16:48

WORCESTERSHIRE’S relegation was sealed this afternoon (Thursday) as newly-crowned LV= County Championship champions Warwickshire condemned them to a humiliating defeat at New Road.

Steve Rhodes’ side were reduced to 209 all out in their second innings, having been skittled out for a paltry 60 in their first, as the Bears claimed a title-clinching victory by an innings and 202-runs.

The defeat leaves Worcestershire cut adrift at the bottom of the table and facing a return to Division Two after two seasons in the top flight.
