BRIDES-TO-BE can pick up a bargain for their special day by visiting a charity shop which has been donated more than 300 stunning wedding dressings.
The new St Richard's Hospice Shop on The Cross has taken delivery of 320 wedding dresses, 100 prom dresses, as well as 250 pairs of wedding shoes, gloves and tiaras.
The generous donation has been made by Olive Pegg, who owns Chalmaine of Worcester in Friar Street, and who has decided to retire and close the business after 30 years.
It means the wedding dresses which would normally retail for up to £1,200 can be picked up for no more than about £300.
St Richard’s Shops and Commercial Director Dan Corns said: "We were absolutely stunned when the owner of Chalmaine of Worcester bridal shop made us the offer. We couldn’t believe our luck.”
“The dresses are mostly from a leading brand and it means that lucky brides-to-be will be able to walk down the aisle on their special day in a beautiful dress at a fraction of the usual cost.”
The new shop also sells ladies, gents and children’s clothing, bric-a-brac and new goods.
