A GROUP of European students used their visit to the city to help support charitable causes.

Sixteen year nine students from schools in Holland, France and Germany visited the King’s School to get a taste of the volunteering activities that students are involved in.

They helped by volunteering at Sight Concern’s Bradbury Centre in Worcester as well as helping to collect money for the Rotarians’ appeal ShelterBox.

They joined the Mayor of Worcester Roger Berry and members of Worcester South Rotary Club with collection buckets on the High Street to raise money for the international emergency relief project.

The students’ visit was organised as part of the European Union-supported Comenius Project, which aims to develop knowledge and understanding of the diversity and value of European cultures and languages.
