POLICE want to speak to this man about two cheque frauds worth £10,000 carried out at the same city bank.

A man entered a branch of RBS on September 20 and produced a counterfeit cheque for a business based in Cheshire along with a counterfeit driving licence purporting to be the business's owner.

He asked for the £5,000 to be handed over the counter as cash and despite checks being made by staff, the cheque was not detected as a forgery and the man was handed £5,000.

The fraud was repeated two days later when it's believed the same suspect returned to the branch and through the same method stole a further £5,000.

PC Oliver Potter, of Worcester Police Station, said: "This was a brazen but sophisticated fraud. The man caught on the CCTV was in the branch at the time and we would like to speak to him about the offence. If you recognise him, please contact West Mercia Police."

PC Potter can be contacted via the non-emergency police number on 101 or information can be passed on anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
