IT WAS a case of when in Rome at a city museum as youngsters journeyed back 2,000 years in history.
Families were greeted by a legionary soldier as they enjoyed a Meet the Romans day at Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum. Children were able to dress up in Roman armour and learn about their daily rituals and domestic life.
They also had the chance to make Roman jewellery including torcs, bracelets and brooches or turn their hand to some archaeology in a mini dig.
The event was staged by education company Discover History and Museums Worcestershire to help raise funds to keep the Worcestershire Hoard of Roman coins which were discovered at Bredon Hill in the county.
