A GROUP of talented pupils from a village school have been chosen to perform with one of the world’s leading orchestras.
The children from Abberley Hall School at Great Witley have won places with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra Children’s Chorus and Youth Chorus.
A total of 13 pupils aged between ten and 12 from the preparatory school were recently told they had passed auditions to sing with the CBSO.
Martin Schellenberg, director of music at Abberley, said: “It is wonderful that so many pupils from Abberley have been successful and will now enjoy the privilege of singing with such a renowned and prestigious orchestra."
“The Children’s Chorus and Youth Chorus perform independently as well as with the CBSO and many other prominent orchestras and choirs."
Although they will have to commit quite a lot of their free time to practice, I feel that this is an incredible and exciting opportunity for the pupils to be trained by top professionals and to sing with one of the leading symphony orchestras of the world."
