Unbeaten Wanderers hammer Camp Hill

OLLIE Burton had a day to remember as he marked his Worcester Wanderers debut with a stunning hat trick as the league leaders trounced bottom side Camp Hill 52-7 at Weston Fields on Saturday.

Persistent rain and icy winds made life difficult for both sets of players.

But after climbing to the top of Midlands One West last week, Worcester were in buoyant mood and did not let that affect their play as they overwhelmed their relegation-threatened opponents.

Wanderers were on top in the scrum and at the line-out as they pinned Camp Hill back from the outset.

Paul Burton started the scoring with a penalty before the floodgates opened with six first half tries to secure an unassailable lead at the interval.

Camp Hill's suffered another blow just before the break as they were reduced to 14 men when their captain received a red card following an incident with Luke Walker.

The Wanderers débutante was forced to leave the field with a fractured eye socket to see Andy Reid come on in his place.

And the replacement made an immediate impact as he put the away side on the back foot with a powerful run.

Reid also got his name on the score-sheet as Wanderers wrapped up the win with a brace from Chris Griffiths as well as tries from Jake Saddington and Sam Carter, while débutante Burton completed his hat trick.

Camp Hill continued to rally and were rewarded for their afternoon's work with a consolation try late on.
