PICTURED here is George Patterson who has been installed as the 42nd Junior Bishop at a parish church in Worcester.
The 11-year-old has taken up the role at Claines Church which will see him fulfil a variety of duties over the festive period up until the Feast of Innocents on December 28.
The ancient tradition of the Junior Bishop was revived by the parish in 1971 and George will be playing a leading part in all of the church services, visiting the sick of the parish and will also preach on Christmas Day.
He will be assisted by a Chaplain, Imogen Gunter, 13, who will help him with his use of the Claines Crosier, a medieval Bishop's staff found in the 1940s during repairs in the neighbouring Mug House pub.
George has succeeded Charlotte Jeavons who was the first female Junior Bishop to don the robes last year.
