CHILDREN at a school in Worcester stepped back in time as they enjoyed a hands-on experience of what life was like for people living during the Second World War.

Year 6 pupils at Northwick Manor Primary School have been looking into the period in British history this term.

And to demonstrate what they have learnt the children dressed in costume and held a coffee morning for parents.

As well as giving the pupils the chance to show off their Lindy Hop dance skills and perform songs, they managed to raise £140 for The Royal British Legion and Help for Heroes.

Sian Williams, headteacher at Northwick Manor Primary School, said: "Year 6 pupils have thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this topic and everyone had a great morning."
