A MAN from Worcester who repeatedly raped a teenage girl has been jailed for 16 years.
Peter Goode, from Quay Street, will also remain on the Sex Offenders Register for life after being sentenced at Worcester Crown Court on Friday (December 21).
The 64-year-old had been found guilty of two counts of indecent assault and three counts of rape at earlier trials.
All of the charges relate to the same victim and took place from 2001 to 2004.
The indecent assaults happened in South Wales but the rape offences were committed in Worcestershire.
Goode was sentenced by His Honour Judge John Cavell who said: "It is hard to find any mitigation (despite the defendant's age of 64) as the victim was just 16 years old, was isolated, vulnerable and needed help but instead you repeatedly raped her."
Detective Constable Michelle Cook, from South Worcestershire Public Protection Unit, said: "I am satisfied with the sentence handed down and would like to pay tribute to the victim who gave evidence during two trials at Worcester Crown Court. Her bravery helped to convict this offender and make sure he will spend a long time in prison."
Goode was made the subject of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order, prohibiting him from having any unsupervised contact of any kind with a female under 16 years of age.
Goode was convicted of the indecency offences at the first trial presided over by Judge Juckes and was convicted of the rape offences at his second trial last month, presided over by Judge Cavell.
