DETECTIVES have been given more time to question a man arrested in connection with the murder of Adrian Locke.

Police were today (Saturday) granted a further 36 hours by Worcester Magistrates Court to interview a man in his 20s who was arrested in Birmingham in the early hours of Friday morning.

He remains in custody at Worcester Police Station.

It follows the murder of Mr Locke, of Wych Road, Droitwich, who was found by paramedics with stab wounds outside a property on Teme Road in Worcester at about 7.20pm on Wednesday (Jan 2) evening.

Despite their efforts, the 39-year old was confirmed dead at the scene by a doctor a short while later.

A post-mortem examination on Thursday determined the cause of death as a stab wound to the torso. A knife which was recovered from number 42a Teme Road is undergoing forensic examinations.

Police continue to investigate whether more than one person was involved in the attack on Mr Locke.

They remain keen to speak to witnesses to the incident and wish to speak with anyone at the scene in Tolladine, particularly before emergency services arrived, or who saw anyone leaving the area at that time.

They are also keen to trace Mr Locke's whereabouts between 5pm and 7.20pm.
