Hi: 10° Lo:2° 7 day

A SUCCESSFUL local choir is on the look-out for new singers to strengthen its ranks at the start of the New Year.
Philomusica is particularly keen to attract second altos and basses which have the deepest voices.
Conductor Linda Parsons said: “At the moment singers with nice deep voices seem to be in short supply. So if you’re interested in joining an active, friendly choir that sings a wide variety of music and has great fun along the way then we’d love to hear from you. We don’t have auditions so new recruits can try us out without the worry that auditions can cause.”
Mrs Parsons is also keen to hear from singers who are or want to be soloists.
“We almost always use our own members as soloists,” she said.
”So we can offer some great opportunities for talented singers.”
Rehearsals take place at Bromyard Road Methodist Church in St John’s on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm.
Full details of the choir’s plans for 2013 can be found at www.philomusica.org.uk or by calling 01684 850426.
