Hi: 14° Lo:3° 7 day

THREE guest houses in Barbourne had to be evacuated on Wednesday night (January 2) after a fire in a bedroom.
Fire crews from Worcester and Droitwich were called to the City Guest House on Barbourne Road at 11.30pm where a fire had broken out in a first floor bedroom.
Six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus put out the blaze and managed to confine it to the room where it had started.
But Station Commander Mark Strutt, from HWFRS, said there was heavy smoke logging throughout the building and the adjoining guest houses either side of the property, and all three were evacuated.
He confirmed the British Red Cross Fire and Emergency Support Service also attended and several residents were rehoused.
Police and fire officers are still investigating the cause of the fire.
