FORMER BBC Folk Musician of the Year John Kirkpatrick will be performing at Huntingdon Hall on Friday, January 18.

Kirkpatrick, who is a frequent contributor to the BBC’s Victorian Farm, is regarded as one of the UK’s most dedicated champions of traditional English folk song, dance and music.

He has had a long and varied career, working with bands like The Albion Band, Magic Lantern and Steeleye Span and has contributed to more than 200 different commercial recordings as a featured artist, session player and band member.

His other credits include work as a songwriter, choreographer, musical director and composer for many theatre companies and plays, working with both The Victoria Theatre in North Staffordshire and The Orchard Theatre Touring Company. He also boasts extensive radio play credits.

His latest tour, The Victorian Farmer’s Year, takes audiences through a year in the countryside, with musical commentaries on each season, bringing days gone by to the present.

Tickets cost £12 (concessions £11) and are available from the Box Office on 01905 611427.
