A COURT hearing into the case of a man accused of murdering Andrew Heath at his flat in Warndon was adjourned on Monday (January 7).

Daniel Martin appeared at Worcester Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing which was set to decide a likely date for his trial to begin, possibly in May or June of this year.

The 23-year-old of Canterbury Road, Ronkswood, denies murdering Mr Heath who died following a fire in his flat in Chedworth Close, Warndon on December 14 2011.

During the hearing it was revealed the trial was likely to be heard in Birmingham because of the limited time available at Worcester Crown Court for what is expected to be a six to eight week trial.

Mr Martin appeared in court alongside three other people who have been charged with perverting the course of justice.

Sarah Martin, 26, of Rodborough Drive, Warndon, Matthew Davies, 28, from the same address and Teresa Martin, 44, also of Rodborough Close were all granted bail on their existing terms.

All four will appear at crown court again on February 7 for a further hearing which is expected to confirm when and where the trial will be held.
