TWO inspirational students who are helping to make a difference to the lives of other young people have been given a special award to recognise their selfless work.
Dan Philpott, 16 and Scott Mitchell, 14, were presented with their Young Good Citizen Awards by West Mercia Police at Riversides School in Barbourne.
Former pupil Dan was recognised for his outstanding progress during his time at the school, which works with pupils that have behavioural, emotional or social difficulties.
He also received glowing praise for his commitment to mentoring other young people at the Wallace House Community and Youth Centre in Evesham.
Year 10 pupil Scott has impressed teaching staff with his studies at school as well as volunteering to support local Sea Cadets, especially those that have experienced difficulties in their lives.
Headteacher Peter Bayly said: "They are a real success story for this school and we are very proud of what they have done and what a good example they have set for the other pupils," he said.
