THE IMPACT of the Holocaust on a young girl and her family will be brought to life in a production of The Diary of Anne Frank at the Swan Theatre from February 12 to 16.

The timing of the five night run from the Swan Theatre Amateur Company (STAC) could not be more apt coming just two weeks after Holocaust Memorial Day.

The dramatisation of The Diary of Anne Frank by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett features a cast led by a talented 15-year-old student from St Mary’s School in Battenhall, Rebecca Gill.

This beautifully constructed drama powerfully communicates not only the tragedy of Anne’s family and friends but also the humanity of those held up in an attic for two and a half years and how they coped with the pressure of that situation on their relationships.

In the midst of it all, the character and optimism of Anne shines like a beautiful star.

Tickets for the show cost £9.50 (First Night £7, concessions £8) and can be booked on 01905 611427.
