A SALON which will provide a training ground for talented up and coming hairdressers hoping to cut it in the industry has opened its doors in Worcester.

The High Street Salon was officially opened by Worcester MP Robin Walker and is led by a team of experienced staff from the Worcester College of Technology.

It is only the 30th college hairdressing salon in the country to become a Wella Centre of Excellence and will give young hairdressers real work experience in the hairdressing industry.

It boasts a team of four apprentices, with two of them being qualified hair stylists currently studying Advanced Level Hairdressing at the college.

Sara Sweeney, the college’s manager for retail and commercial enterprise, said: “The experience gained by students working in the new High Street Salon will ensure they are able to progress seamlessly into the world of work having completed their training.”
