Abuse victims urged to speak out

DOMESTIC abuse victims in same sex relationships are being urged to speak out.

The Worcestershire Forum Against Domestic Abuse has launched a campaign to encourage gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people to come forward as it is currently receiving few referrals from within those communities.

Strategic co-ordinator Martin Lakeman said: "Our aim is to put victims at the very heart of what we do and we need feedback to improve our services.

"It is of some concern that we are receiving very few reports from within these communities, which in turn prevents us from supporting those who are suffering. My message is simple, please don't suffer in silence."

As part of the campaign, the forum is asking residents to complete a short survey with 11 questions. Visit www.gendertrust.org.uk/gtsurvey to take part.
