A POPULAR Broadway musical is set to light up a Worcester school as it celebrates the unveiling of its new theatre.
Tudor Grange Academy will be holding three performances of Annie next week at its state-of-the-art theatre which has been built as part of a £15million redevelopment of the school.
Jenna Butler, curriculum lead for the arts, said the students could not wait to take to the stage.
"We started rehearsing for the show at the beginning of the school year and hoped it might have been a Christmas performance, but we have had to hang on until now," she said.
"We have always had a really active arts faculty but we never really had the right facility to support the students. But it is like Christmas everyday for the students now."
Mrs Butler also hopes the theatre can be used to strengthen the school's links with the community and has urged people to attend the performances which run from Wednesday (February 13) to Friday (February 15) at 7.30pm, with doors opening at 7.15pm.
Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3 for concessions and can be purchased on 01905 454627.
